Cosmetic Love Innisfree Eco Nail Color Shade 83 Review

August 25, 2013 Setu 5 Comments

Hello friends, today I will be sharing my review about Missha --- Nail Paints from Cosmeticlove. I received a small packet from them for my honest review.

For today I have the shade No 83. These are Eco Nail Colors are available in 15 shades.

Innisfree Eco Nail Color Shade 83

About Cosmetic Love : It is Korean online beauty shop which stacks a lot of Korean beauty products, from nail paints to face masks to lipsticks to beauty solutions. The best part is they prvide free International shipping Worldwide!! You can check their website at http://cosmetic-love.com/.

About the Product:  Eco Nail Color. A long-lasting, vivid, and glossy nail polish with natural colors. You can find the product here (http://cosmetic-love.com/innisfree-eco-nail-color-15-colors.html )

Innisfree Eco Nail Color Shade 83

Quantity and Price: 7.03$ for 10 ml.It comes in a round bottle stout bottle and looks pretty. The cap is thick circular which is not what I appreciate. But it doesn’t create any problems in application. So we are good here.

Color : Although it does not have a shade name, I feel the color is very near to mint and pistachio. It is a soft shade which will soothe eyes. It is more of a pastel base shade. It is like a mint smoothie with colorful crushed ice :)

Innisfree Eco Nail Color Shade 83

Consistency and Pigmentation : It has medium sized bright green and coral glitters. They are well suspended in the bottle. The consistency is quite smooth and I did not feel any roughness due to the glitters. The pigmentation is what disappointed me a bit. It is not completely translucent. The tip of my nails could be easily seen with two coats. I applied three but I was still not happy. So I applied 4 coats, which gave translucent look finally. After 4 coats it gave a pretty creamy finish which will be liked by many. The soft and serene look that my nails got was good. The minty pistachio shade in pastel is very very in these days and are totally worth the hue and cry .The glitters are well suspended and sufficient even with single swipe. The shine of the glitters is not loud but soft which very well compliments the soft look.

Innisfree Eco Nail Color Shade 83

Overall : I love the finish and look but four coats is a task, really. It may not be for others, but they did they tire me out. These are on lines of indie nail paints which are my heart throb although I have none. So, this one is the first to indie kinds to enter my nail paint den.I am not sure if indies are always transparent kinds or this one is peculiar.

Innisfree Eco Nail Color Shade 83

Rating: Overall, I would give it a 4/5. Everything is great except the 4 coats. If you can come in terms with 4 coat this is must have shade. Really you will be happy and fresh when you gaze your nails. They relax my eyes.

Innisfree Eco Nail Color Shade 83

I hope you enjoyed the review. They have many more nail polish and beauty products on their website which is worth a look.

PS : This Nail Polish was sent to by Tip Top for my honest review.

Rakshabandhan Inspired Nail Art

August 20, 2013 Setu 15 Comments

Hi Nail Polish Sisters, today I have a special nail art to share with you. Yes, today is Rakshabandhan or Rakhee in India. It is festival celebrated all across with lot of joy and enthusiasm. We celebrate this day where a sister ties Rakhee (an auspicious thread) to her brother's wrist asking him to protect her and take care of her. "Rakhsha" means "protection" and "Bandhan" means a "tie of relation".

Kryolan Ikonic Gel Liner Pencil - Navy Shade Review

August 17, 2013 Setu 9 Comments

Hi Girls, I have always maintained and said that there are two things that I love in me; they are my "nails" and "eyes". I can go on buying any number of nail paints and drool over any number of eyeliner/kohls. I am much more choosy about eyeliner/kohls obviously as our eyes are very sensitive and I wear contacts making them super sensitive.

I can't leave home without sliding some trustworthy, long-staying kohl and rubbing some lip balm. I am insanely addicted to kohls/kajals. They brighten up and lit my face instantly :)

Anyways, so I had a mini haul of four shades of Kryolan Ikonic Gel Liner Pencil. Of course, nothing can replace the drama that black kohls create, but colored liners are equally tempting. So after reading all positive reviews about Kryolan Ikonic Gel Liner Pencil, I fell for not one but 5. I purchased 3 colored and 2 black eyeliner. I purchased a black since I am planning to do a giveaway, I have read it all around Indian blogs how it is difficult to find them, no online stores, no retail stores expect Mumbai and Delhi. So I thought I would pick up extra and put it on a giveaway so that atleast one more person has it :)

Back to review of Navy shade. Kryolan is a professional makeup line which is marketing a german brand "Ikonic". They have an amazing array of colored gel liner pencils. Just sooo many to make you broke.

Ikonic Gel Eyeliner Pencil Navy

Price and Quantity : Rs 180 for 1.2 grams

Ikonic Gel Eyeliner Pencil Navy

My Experience with Kryolan Ikonic Gel Liner Pencil- Navy

The shade is exactly what the name says "Navy". It is dark indigo blue in color. The pencil is not a twist up one but you need to sharpen it which wastes a lot of these darlings. In flash light the color is like bright dark blue but without flash it appears to be dark ink blue.

The pencil glides like dream, they are very smooth and soft. So do not be hard or apply pressure unnecessarily, chances are you will break the tip. I like dark kohls when it comes to waterline application. But gliding once  only gives desired look which is very bold. However, I always apply it by double gliding, just to be sure.

They stay on waterline for 5 hours fresh like, after that they begin to break. They wont smudge or bleed from tear glands to embarrass you, they will just go lighter. I got compliments for this one :). Although it does a great job, the staying is not as great as compared to my HG Maybelline Gel Liner.

If you apply on your lid, you will have no complains. It stays for like ever. Very bold and distinct. There is no way you would repent this one. And for Rs 180 its like a mega clearance sale.

Ikonic Gel Eyeliner Pencil Navy - With Flash

Ikonic Gel Eyeliner Pencil Navy

Ikonic Gel Eyeliner Pencil Navy Without Flash

Ikonic Gel Eyeliner Pencil Navy

Pros:

  1. Super cheap which is huge incentive to try

  2. Available in various shades

  3. Glides very smoothly

  4. Gives intense color by gliding just once

  5. Very soft and can be used for smokey/smudged look

  6. Can be used both as eyeliner and kohl

  7. Great staying which is over 5 hours when used as kohl and forever when used as liner

  8. Does not irritate eyes or makes your eyes water

  9. Safe for contact lenses also, self tested

Cons:

  1. I do not like pencils which needs to be sharpened since they consume time

  2. There is also wastage due to sharpening thing

  3. Finishes soon

  4. Availability (only in few outlets in Mumbai, Delhi I guess )

Will I repurchase Kryolan Ikonic Gel Liner Pencil- Navy? Yes, I would. I am in love with the color, quality and price.

Would I recommend Kryolan Ikonic Gel Liner Pencil to others? For all those who can get it, GRAB it without an exception.

Rating : 5/5

Tip Top Fairy Dust Nail Polish Review

August 13, 2013 Setu 5 Comments

Hi, this is the second polish out of the Tip Top lot that I am going to review today. The Creamy Orange from Tip Top totally blew my mind. And then this week I moved to the Fairy Dust. After wearing the bright color to work last week, I felt the need to tone down :P. So I turned towards this.  I have changed job so I am playing safe on nail polish these days. I am avoiding nail art or a loud color as this is my first week (I had written this post 2 weeks back and now I am a month old in my office). I will unfold my cards as time passes LOL. I am little careful to not go over the top in the very beginning (as If I can help it LOL). Anyways not only did I wear this polish but I also did a simple butterfly nail art on this the next day. I have already shared this with you, but for revisions sake, I will share a pic once again.

How To Store Your Nail Polish

August 12, 2013 Setu 12 Comments

Hi Fellas, few days back I got an email from Mithra who has similar passion for nail art and beauty :). She asked me if I could have her guest posts on my blog on nail art, DIY stuff? Why would I say no to that? We could have more posts on the topics we love :D. Plus you will get a fresh writing style in case you have got bored with mine :( :( So ladies and ladies, here is a brief introduction about Mithra. Please give her as much love, this is first time here. She is not a blogger but has lots of craziness for nail art and beauty like us :P. She is from South part of India (which is my country) but has been settled in Denmark for long.

Here is what Mithra has to say about her : My name is Mithra and I live in Denmark. In my spare time I like to do nail art and be creative.  I would like to share DIY nail art designs and beauty tips with girls who have the same passion as me.

How To Store Your Nail Polish

Hi everyone!
Today I'm going to show you how to store your nail polish. I have a big collection of nail polishes. The last time I counted them all was last Christmas and I had 120 nail polishes. I've got a lot more since and I know for sure that this collection won't stop growing!

How to Store How to Store your Nail Paints 4

I used to display my collection on my vanity table which is placed close to my window, so I can do nail art in natural lighting,  but I noticed that the polishes I had put in the front row started to get dry and when I painted my nails the nail polish had a creamy consistency. My polishes were drying out and I didn't know why until one of my friends told me it was because of the direct sun light and heat.

We need to store our nail polishes in the right way if we want them to last for a longer time.

How to Store your Nail Paints 3Store your nail polishes in a cool, dark and dry place
-
When your polishes are exposed to direct sunlight and heat the polish will thicken and the color will start changing. The best place to keep your nail polish is under your bed or in drawers.

How to Store your Nail Paints 3Keep your nail polishes in an upright position
- If it doesn't stand in the right position the polish will slowly leak into the cap making the bottle hard to close. This will definitely dry out the polish and create air bubbles.

I store my nail polishes in a box were my laptop was in when I bought it. I painted the box red and decorated it with pictures of my favorite actresses, singers, nail designs and other things that I like and inspire me. I keep the box under my bed.

I would suggest getting transparent storage boxes or shelves/racks. Even a shoe box will do the job. I found this cute idea where you can store your nail polishes in a little suitcase. I love that!

If your nail polishes are stored in drawers or in boxes it can be difficult to see what nail polish color it is so here's a quick tip:
Take a pieces of paper and cut small circles and tape them on top of each of your nail polish' lid. Paint the paper piece with the nail polish and now you know what color polish it is.

I've also heard that keeping your nail polish in the fridge will extend its shelf life by slowing down the discoloration that happens when nail polish gets older, but personally I haven't tried that and I don't think I ever will. It doesn't sound like a great idea storing polish and food together. Besides that I don't have enough space to store them in the fridge.
Everyone has their own opinion on this if it's right or wrong so you might as well do some research and decide it.

I hope you found these tips useful! ;-)

Tip Top Creamy Orange Nail Polish Review

August 10, 2013 Setu 9 Comments

Hi Friends, I received a parcel of nail paints from Tip Top few days back for reviewing. They definitely know how to win a girls heart. I got 4 shades of pink/corals and a black nail paint. I also got 3 special duo nail paints with glitter on one side.

I shall be sharing my honest reviews with you for all one by one. The colors sent to me are chosen wisely so they made me happy in the first look. The only thing which made me sad is the postal charge of Rs 600  . I have never been charged before but this one and born-pretty holo arrived the same day with this exception.

Anyways, I will be reviewing the ‘Creamy Orange ' today which I liked the most so it was the first one I tried.

Nail Art Basics - What are Nail Art Stickers and how to use them?

August 09, 2013 Setu 13 Comments

Hi All, the nail art accessory that I have for your help today is extremely simple to use and affordable also. They are 'Nail Art Stickers' . To be frank, I always route to them when I am out of ideas and out of time. I hate carrying bare nails so I need to have something or the other on them. And if my nails are just plain painted before I leave home, I throw in a sticker pack in my purse and simply peel them off to beautify my nails while traveling to work in my car. Don't worry, my husband is on the driving seat. :P

What is a Nail Art Sticker and How to use them?

One doesn't have to be a pro to enjoy a  Nail Art Sticker. They are pretty small designs on a sheet All you need to do is chose a design, peel it off the sheet and apply it on your nail. Press it firmly so that it sticks well to your nails. And finish it with a top coat. Viola!! you have a pretty design on your nails in seconds.

This is one of the nail arts where I used these stickers. Forgive me for picture quality :(

The Flowered Juicy Pink Nail Art 1

They come in form of small cut designs ,long  laces, and whole nail sticker. And I have all three (Yuppiee :) ). The laces are longer and you gotto cut them as per your nail size. The whole nail stickers cover the entire nails and are usually 16-18 in a pack. You have to chose  the correct size to fit your nails. You can file off the extra length of the sticker. I am yet to use mine full nail sticker :(. But the instruction says one should wash hands and nails properly to wipe off all oil and dust. Then peel off the correct sized nail sticker and lay them on the real nails (with no creme or base coat). Press it and smooth it on your nails.

Where to buy Nail Art Stickers?

If you are in Mumbai, you could head towards beauty centre to get your nail art stickers. The designs are almost repetitive but I am sure you would find few to suit your taste. I bought all three types of stickers there. As far as I remember, the cut flowers and laces were approx Rs 30 while the full nail sticker was Rs 50. Again, you would mostly find floral designs, ordinary laces and few patterns for full nails but they are good to begin with. So for first time it is good but if you want variety and choice for the second time, you may be disappointed!

Or if you could easily procure one from flipkart or other online stores. The cut designs should be priced around Rs 70-80 and full nails would be expensive (not sure about the exact price) .But you will get choices like flowers, hello kitty, angry birds etc. I have never purchased one from there because after purchasing my cheap ones from beauty center at Rs 30, Rs 70 was expensive.

The other option to get both variety and pay less is our own Born Pretty Store. They have more variety of nail art stickers than I have seen anywhere else. To be frank I can spend hours browsing their nail art collection. I am going to order some soon (although I have not even used half of my existing stock :( ). You could use the code HQBQ10 to avail 10% additional discount.

Cute Bunny Nail Art

August 05, 2013 Setu 2 Comments

Hi, another quick post to finish my entries for the OMD Nail Art Challenge for the animal theme. I made this nail art randomly. I was wearing a bunny studs and was suddenly inspired. And this is the rough outcome.

The Cute Bunny Nail Art

I just randomly drew these but I was happy because it was spontaneous.I was tired from work and was getting my ear stud off when a spark of inspiration hit me. And I grabbed my brush and bam. It is an average nail art but I hope to have more days where I am so inspired. I hope you like them as well.

Laces in Neon Pink

August 05, 2013 Setu 0 Comments

Hi, I am sharing a quick but very old nail art with you today. I was about to put it for the neon theme of OMD Challenge but was too busy. So without much ado I am sharing the old imperfect nail art.

Laces In Neon Pink

It was one of other nail arts whose image got shrunk while transfer from my old cell phone. But whatever it is, it reminds of old memories when I went for Thailand trip. This was the nail art I wore particularly so that they pop out in my pics :)

Anyways, the base color is a lovely neony pink from the colorbar cocktail collection. And I used white nail art pen to draw the laces. They simple but edgy. I hope you like them.

MasterChef Inspired Nail Art

August 04, 2013 Setu 9 Comments

Hi Fellas, now we all are polish lovers here. And we all know what house hold chores and cooking does to our nails :(. An specially Indian cooking, turmeric will paint the entire nail town yellow!!! Aggrr!! I hate it so much.

But on the other hand cooking is as creative as our nail arts. You know the joy of creation or giving life to something are the kind of feelings I have when I cook (I do very occasional cooking!). My maid takes care of everyday cooking, so I am set there. But if I have time and I am not tired and I am in mood and I am also not busy blogging and not doing nail arts and have not fought with my husband....I do Cook. Now, I am not a bad girl (I swear, pinky promise) but working, traveling, managing home, managing maid, managing blog and relaxing leaves me with very little time for cooking.

Hi everyone, as you all know my country of origin is India and here we are proudly inclined towards bright colors, intricate designs and jewellery. we relish lively colors, lots of delicate patterns, golds, glitters and all what could possibly throw life to any outfit. I wanted to depict this in form of nail art and I knew I had to turn to tribal. I love tribal nail arts an  I feel I am fairly good at it :P. I am able to do these using my wrong hand also :) :). I have done tribal twice before and following are the pictures.
