It's Snowing Glitter Nail Art

November 30, 2013 Setu 7 Comments

Hi All, you may be aware that I had been to Delhi to my in laws for Diwali. I used to practically dress up every day for some or the other occasion. Either we had some guests coming or we were going as guests. But in all this run around, I kept on changing my nail paints and nail art everyday. I wanted it to match my dress.
Now the nail art I am sharing with you today is done to complement a black and white stripe knit top. Me and hubby were going to Meerut to visit a friend of his whose wife was expecting. Meerut is 1 to 1.5 hours drive from Delhi, so I agreed for the trip.

Glitter Pick-a-boo Nail Art

We had come back home at 4am the previous night (practically same day) after watching an excruciating long movie Krissh 2. And then we started at 11am the next morning (practically same morning). Do you think I had time between 4am to 11 am to change my nail paint and do a nail art. NO!! I was struggling to sleep even.

Glitter Pick-a-boo Nail Art

Anyways, I stepped into the car with no nail polish. But me being me, I carried a black and white nail paint and some accessory in the car with an ambitious dream of doing the entire polish and art in a moving car. And I succeeded indeed in my ambitious mission. One says correctly "Where there is will there is way"!!.

Glitter Pick-a-boo Nail Art

So here is what I did in car:

  • Applied Base Coat and let it dry.

  • Applied a coat of Maybelline Colorshow Porcelain White without dripping or dropping the paint and allowed it to dry.

  • Applied another coat of Maybelline Colorshow Porcelain White and let it dry.

  • Sponged the tips of my nails with Maybelline ColorShow Black Color  with Konad Sponging Set.

  • Did the cleanup job.

  • Applied a beautiful dark pink glitter polish on top to get hold of some bling. The white and black alone looked bland.

  • Sealed with a top coat.

Glitter Pick-a-boo Nail Art

Phhew!!! Please girls do not forget I was in a moving car (with some traffic jams in between) while did all this.No one likes traffic jams but I did not seem to mind one since it gave me time in between to some precision work!! I am quite impressed that I ever thought I could do this thing in a moving car (sitting on front seat) and even more amazed on how I was able to do it.

Ok, Yes...I am proud of it and my will power :) :) I hope you liked my nail art esp considering my dare of dong this in a moving car. Do you have similar experiences to share?

Maybelline Color Show 'Fantasea Green' Nail Polish Review

November 26, 2013 Setu 8 Comments

I am in not much of a talking mood today and probably there is nothing that I have not said about the awesome Maybelline Color Show Nail Paints in the past. They have taken care that the shades they have launched are not the ones ordinarily flooded in market. I hate to see awefully common colors on new launches. But Maybelline has nice nudes and dusty colors.

Maybelline ColorShow Fantasea Green Nail Polish Review

Quantity and Price: 6ml for Rs 75

Maybelline ColorShow Fantasea Green Nail Polish Review

Color : The name really says it all about the color here. It is truly a Sea green shade. However, if I say a dirty sea green color it would have been more apt. I love the color. It is a dirty sea green color in matte with grey undertones. The color is gorgeous when wore on its own while is a lovely base for nail art. I like such colors. Its green with a difference.

Maybelline ColorShow Fantasea Green Nail Polish Review

Pigmentation and Texture : The polish is creamy and jelly in texture. It is very smooth on application and glides easily. The pigmentation is a two coater. A gorgeous shine once you have finished application is guaranteed. All the pictures are taken without top coat as I do for all my reviews. And you can see the richness for yourself.

Maybelline ColorShow Fantasea Green Nail Polish Review

At this price the color and finish is a steal. I am so impressed!!!!

Overall : I love the unique color (I hate common colors). And the finish is gellish. So I will go with 5/5 .

KKCentrehk Nail Water Decals Review

November 23, 2013 Setu 3 Comments

It has been sometime that I have been wanting to try out these Nail Water Decals and I am so happy I am finally sharing this with you. Few months back KKCentrehk contacted me checking if I would review their products. I decided flip through their website and I was so clueless after browsing their Nail Water Decals Section. I took a long time to select the water decals I wanted to review. Trust me when I say this "I was SPOILT for choice " . They have like an ocean full of variety and genre of decals. Loads of designs and patterns to choose from. Don't believe me ??? I bet you wont if you check this link . As per their site they have 2323 types of Decals.....Now that's what I call SPOILT for choice :) :) . I was feeling so greedy seeing them all that I almost wanted to pick all of them.

Kkcenterhk Water Decal Review

The decal that I used is N.NAIL Strawberry Head Little Girl Nail Water Decals and is priced $5.75 . Yes I do agree, they are a bit over priced as compared to the market competitors. But the plethora of options you get and unparallel designs partially justify the price. They do have 'Free International Shipping'  which is a must have at this price.

Kkcenterhk Water Decal Review

I used Maybelline Silk Stockings Nail Polish as the base color. I wanted a sober base to highlight the subltleness of these decals. But now I think I could have used brighter colors which would have brought out the beauty of these decals even more :( . But anyways, these aren't bad either. They are cute, classy and chick.

Kkcenterhk Water Decal Review

I also added a little bow to alternate fingers to try out the look and add a little bit of brightness and girly bit to it. I am not sure if it was better off without it . You take the call. I am happy with both.

Kkcenterhk Water Decal Review

I found this design in particular very unique and sweet. The market is flooded with feathers and flower decals. This one is like a breath of fresh air :)

How to Use Nail Water Decal

  • Cut each decal out as close to the image as you can then

  • Paint your nail with any base color as usual and let polish dry completely.

  • Put the decal in some water for 15 sec. Using a Tweezer or your sharp nails separate the white backing paper

  • Place the decal on your nail and take some clear polish and paint over the nails.

  • Cut each decal out as close to the image as you can then, paint your nail a light color (white, clear, ect.) Let polish dry. Put the decal in some water for 15 sec. Then remove the white backing. Place the decal on your nail and take some clear polish and paint over the decal several coats.

  • Viola, you have the prettiest designs and patterns on your nails in seconds without the effort of painting :) :)

Kkcenterhk Water Decal Review

How did you find the nail art and the decals?? I loved them for everything but price. So I would rate them 4/5 ( -1 for being kinna pricy, at least to me) . However, the good news is you can avail 10% discount by using my coupon code. I hope this would ease up the purchase.

Maybelline Color Show 'Silk Stockings' Nail Polish Review

November 20, 2013 Setu 26 Comments

I think 'Nude Shade' is something which makes any hand in the world look gorgeous (expect a man's hairy hand). It does not discriminate over fair and dusky skin but casts it beauty to all.

Maybelline ColorShow Silk Stocking Nail Polish Review

Due to this quality of nudes, I have not one but over 6 nudes.Really at least one is a must have girls. Anyways, this was a part of the Maybelline Color Show set that my husband gave me. I was not very happy with the nude shades since I have enough nudes but  the shade is great.

Maybelline Color Show Constant Candy Nail Polish Review

November 19, 2013 Setu 3 Comments

Maybelline Color Show "Constant Candy" was a love at first sight. The second I opened my box of Maybelline Color Show, I fell for this. I told my husband this was best shade out of the 40 and I didn't have a similar shade in my collection. To which he said " Had I known this shade will make you so happy, I would have few more of the same shade :) ".

I can bet any girl will fall for this the moment she sees it. It is a lovely barbie doll pastel pink color. I was waiting a long time to try them on but I wasn't getting an opportunity. Finally I decided I will wear the sweet color of love on my husbands birthday (9th Nov)  :) :) (and ofcourse top it up with nail art!)

Maybelline Color Show Velvet Wine Nail Polish Review

November 16, 2013 Setu 6 Comments

Are you sometimes guilty of underestimating something, to be completely blown over by it later??? And then you think 'Maybe I should give rest to my pessimism" . Something similar happened to me when I saw this shade in Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish Box (Remember my hubby gave me entire set of 40 colors) .

I would always open box and hate to see this horribly common color (at least in India). It looked typically like an old fashion "aunty color". Some shade of maroon is what I speculated about it (maroon is my hatestttt color) .And can you imagine I have two of this nail polish, which irritated me more. But still to see how horrible this nail polish was I applied it on my pinky.

Marks &Spencer Magnolia Hand &Nail Cream Review

November 10, 2013 Setu 1 Comments

I love hand and nail creams. Really girls, I was unaware of any such thing till an year back when my sister gifted me a Marks and Spencer set containing hand and nail cream. I have been smitten by them since then. For all those who think any cream can substitute hand and nail cream , you are wrong.A hand and nail cream moisturizes your hands and nails without making them greasy. So since then I have been going back to Marks and Spencer for their variety of hand and nail creams.
This one is from their floral range.

Marks & Spencer Magnolia Hand Nail Cream

Product Description: The fragrance of sweet Magnolia flowers, this carefully formulated pH balanced cream with added moisturisers will soften, condition and nourish hands and strengthen nails.

Price Rs. 199 for 100 ml

Marks & Spencer Magnolia Hand Nail Cream

Directions: Massage as often required into hands and nail, particularly after exposure to water and detergents.
Indications: Not recommended for facial use

Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Paraffinum Liquidum, Cetearyl Alcohol, Petrolatum, Isopropyl Palmitate, Polysorbate 60, PEG-100 Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate, Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, Panthenol, Parfum, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl AcrylateCrosspolymer, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, 2-Bromo-2-Nitropropane-1,3-Diol, Amyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Benzyl Salicylate, Sodium Hydroxide, Geraniol, Citronellol, Propylene Glycol, Isoeugenol, Eugenol, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Magnolia Liliflora Bud Extract

My Experience

I had already purchased a deodorant from the same Magnolia flowers range. The fragrance was mystifying. But it used to leave a white powdery thing on my clothes/underarms after application. So I stoped using it. I really liked fragrance yet couldn't use it. So when I saw this fragrance as Hand and Nail Cream, I quickly grabbed one. I have already used the M&S -Natures Extract Pampering Cocoa Butter hand and nail cream . It was 199 for 50 ml while this was just half the price. So with some doubt I purchased it.

However Magnolia Hand & Nail Cream was not as thick as Cocoa butter. The consistency was a little more watery and light.I was doubtful if it is going to be moisturizing enough. But it was.It has a beautiful floral fragrance and since I use it my office after every hand wash, I had my neighbors asking me about it :) . It is light and creamy in texture. It makes hands supple and nails shiny without making it greasy at all. Hand and Nail creams are extremely important considering how drying our hand can be otherwise working air conditioned office for long hours. As a result of drying your cuticles will tear up and nails will get flaky. Although this cream doesn't do much for nails. But atleast moistens them and greases them. I take special care to rub the cream on my cuticles and nail tips.

It really makes me fall in love with my hands.Really, who doesn't like shiny soft hands? The price is a bargain. Although the quality is slightly lower than M&S -Natures Extract Pampering Cocoa Butter hand and nail cream. This one is not as thick and creamy but does its job decently.

Marks & Spencer Magnolia Hand Nail Cream

Magnolia Hand and Nail Cream Blob

Marks & Spencer Magnolia Hand Nail Cream

Pros:

  •     Moisturizes and hydrates your hands and nails

  •     Doesn't make your hands greasy or slippery

  •     Hands and nails are supple and shiny after use

  •     Gives a soft and delicate look and feeling

  •     Great floral fragrance

  •     Hygienic flip flop packaging

  •     Value for money (Rs 199 for 100 ml)

  •     Lots of Variants available

Cons

  •     I wish it was a bit more thick, although this is good enough

  •     Only available at M&S outlets

Will I re-purchase again? Yes, but may be some other variant.

Would I recommend it to others? Yes, it is a light floral scented non greasy hand cream at a very reasonable price. With winters drawing near, you definitely need one.

 Overall Rating :4/5
Have you trued any other hand and nail cream? what are your thoughts on it?

Do you think some colors light up your mood and day instantly? Well, I believe that but still I was presently surprised by this one. For those of you never experienced this, what a pity :(

I have a Maybelline Coloroma Green and few other greens since 2 years so I am not a newbie to "Green World". But this green just lit up my day. The shade name is "Mint Mojito". Lets see how the color, pigmentation and finish is here.

Maybelline ColorShow Mint Mojito Nail Polish Review

Color : Well lets just say it is bright , happy, glossy and green. The color is very fresh and peppy. I totally loved it. It grows more on you once you apply it on your nails. The shine and the spark of green is worth a second look. It is a perfect sunny and summer color. It reminded me of mornings every time I looked at it.

Maybelline ColorShow Mint Mojito Nail Polish Review

Pigmentation and Texture : It is a brilliant, glitter less and creamy green color. It is densely pigmented. There is good coverage even in first coat. But second good brings out exact color and  beautiful shine. The finish is unparalleled for this price. It gives a creamy high shine look even without top coat. Also the pictures are taken after 2-3 days of application (without top Coat) but the shine did not go away. It was chip free also.

Overall : I am quite amazed by these and I would totally recommend them.

Delicate Rose on Lavender Nail Art

November 04, 2013 Setu 20 Comments

Hi, I am still in my stamping trial and error zone. I really feel so frustrated at times when I don't get designs correct on my nails!! I have gone on and off stamping endless number of times to get these flower on my nails. After like 5-6 attempts per nail, I managed this nail art and few drops of sweat on my forehead!! Phew!!

I used the Maybelline Color Show "Lavender Lies" as the base color. Then I stamped with "Black Konad Special Polish" . The image plate I used is I guess a dupe a Konad.

Roses on Lavender Nail Art

It was really task to get these roses correctly on my nails since I am terrible at this stuff. But the end look kinna made gave me "Worth It" feeling. I have collected 12 Konad Stamping Polish and 15 Konad Stamping plates and a few dupes. Woah! I have invested a lot in just one month and I better get good at it.

Hi Girls, I am back with review of Maybelline ColorShow "Lavender Lies". I do have a lot of shades on lighter note of lavender which I barely use. And now the Maybelline Color Show gift has added two other lavender shades to my kitty.
Nonetheless, I picked up the darker of two lavenders to review today.
