Femme Fatale Burning Blossom Indie Nail Polish Review

October 28, 2014 Setu 12 Comments

Hi Girls, I am going to review and share swatches of my favourite Indie Polish. You know the feeling when you have been swooning over something for very long long time and the next thing you know is, its in your hands :).This polish holds same place in my life. It was the first indie polish which caught my fancy. I think seeing swatches of this polish , I developed love for the whole indie line.

My newly married friend Deepti is posted in Australia these days, poor thing her hubby was in India. So they had long distance relation even after marraige :(.She was travellung to India and she was sweet enough (I din't give her an option to say No anyways) to get lots of Aussie Polishes for me :). I can't thank her enough. And you know what happened after she placed order my polishes and got them?? Her husband also got a job in Australia itself and now they are together :P :P. You see how kind God was to her because she got my polishes :P . Just Kidding!! I am happy that both of them are together now :). Whenever she comes next she will again get polishes for me, after all I will again not give her choice to say 'No'.

Femme Fatale Burning Blossom Indie Nail Polish Review

Color : It has a beautiful and lovely orangish-yellow creme base. Even people who are not friends with orange can carry this gracefully. It is not like the orange which steals the show and makes your hands look pale and dull. It is a gorgeous and serene orange which makes your hands look delicate. It is packed with Neon pink, Orange and Black matte hexes.

Femme Fatale Burning Blossom Indie Nail Polish Review

Formula and Finish : It is a creme base polish with lots of matte hexes. So you cannot expect a shiny glossy finish. The polish is self leveling I could say. I thought the polish is gonna dry upto bumpy but it settled after drying. The good thing about the formula is that it is opaque in two coats. You don't have to wear an undie inside :).

Femme Fatale Burning Blossom Indie Nail Polish Review

Final Verdict: This is gorgeous girly spring polish. The hexes are well stuffed so that you don't have to fish for them. It gets opaque in two coats unlike most of indies that need undie. And the neon pink hex makes you skip a beat. I don't think there is a reason to not like this polish.

Rating : 5/5

Diwali Nail Art

October 22, 2014 Setu 4 Comments

Hi Girls, How are you all? I hope each one of you is having fun! Why not, there so much festivity around :). October is just a month of blast, you have Dussehra, KarvaChauth, Dhanteras , Diwali , Halloween, its the beginning of fall and so much more.

Diwali Nail Art

Trust me I want to capture each and every essence from around the globe on my nails. I want to have glimpses of all the these flowing on my nails,  but I have been able to nail a few only. I did Dussehra Nails , KarvaChauth Nails , Glitz and Glam for Dhanteras and trying to do Diwali Nail Art here.

Diwali Nail Art

I am not completely satisfied with the nail art but I am not sad either.

Diwali Nail Art

On my ring finger and accent I have applied Enchant Purple Polish and coated with Max Factor Fire Fantasy. On rest of the fingers goes my NYX Pastel Yellow. Its the best yellow I could ask for :).

Diwali Nail Art

I have tried to incorporate few things to go with the theme. I have made 'Toran' out of mango leaves which are considered very auspicious. If it is Diwali, it can't be without Diya. So I have made Deeps or Diya also which are very integral.

Diwali Nail Art

I have also made 'Kandils' which I love. They are colorful and available in lots of shapes and form. There are so many variations to 'Kandils' and each one is awesome in their own way.

I love Diwali, its my favorite festival :). I hope you like my Diwali Nail Art and not to forget, Wish  you a very very Happy Diwali.

Diwali Crackers and Celebration Nail Art

October 21, 2014 Setu 19 Comments

Hello Gorgeous! Its Diwali time, a festival of fun, frolic, color and crackers; making it the 'king' of festivals :).I would say 'Like Mango is to Fruits, Diwali is to Festival'.The shops are decorated, houses are cleaned, attendance is reduced to half in office ,malls are flooded with crowd, maids asking for bonus etc are characteristic features of this festival.

So, I am wearing Diwali not only on my sleeves but also on my nails :). Nails are very important part of grooming and definitely separates you from crowd.

Diwali Crackers and Celebration Nail Art

On nails I am wearing some crackling diwali crackers and some blingy festivity. The color used is neon-ish magenta color from Sinful Colors called 'Dream On'. It is a bright color and this hue is considered auspicious too. You can use any color you wish, it should just reflect your feelings and your mood :). Nails have a very big heart girls, they welcome all colors very graciously if you apply it right; so don't be scared to experiment.

Diwali Crackers and Celebration Nail Art

There are so very many elements of Diwali that I would have to literally borrow nails of at least 10 friends to depict all of them and to do justice to them :). So I picked up my favorite elements and you can totally pick any of yours.

Diwali Crackers and Celebration Nail Art

I feel Diya, Kandils and crackers capture the essence of Diwali in quite holistic manner so they were my picks. They are all drawn using an ordinary fine painting brush which is available at any stationary shop. One can trim it down equally from all sides reducing the bristles and hence making them thin, like I did. The brush can now be used for fine work. All the drawing on the base polish is done with acrylic paints which is again available in any stationary shop. No, it doesn't get washed off with water if you top coat it. You don't need an expensive Top Coat if you don't have one. A simple clear polish will do the trick :).

Diwali Crackers and Celebration Nail Art

Diwali without some glam and glitter is too boring!!!I incorporated loose glitters to decorate my Diya, Kandil and Crackers. Such glitters are available in any craft shop. I used fine end of toothpick to pick each spec of glitter and place them on nails. It should be placed while the base is not fully dry, otherwise the glitter will slip down our curvy nails. Now your nail art is finished, and you should apply the top coat/clear polish to 'Seal the Deal' :).

Diwali Crackers and Celebration Nail Art

Now as you see nail art is not expensive, not difficult and every thing you need is absolutely available around you. So as I always say to readers of my blog- You don't need 'Skill' but 'Will' to do Nail Art. Get creative this Diwali and do not keep your nails deprived of this festival :)

Rangoli on Marble Floor Nail Art

October 20, 2014 Setu 21 Comments

Hi Girls, how is the diwali preparations going? Oh My, there is so much going around both in home, nail world and office. I am still managing to put up a descent nail art participating in challenges.

Since Diwali is anyways my favorite festival and close to my heart so the additional effort is not  pinching. I have tried to present Rangoli in a different way. Now the disclaimer is 'I like it' irrespective what the world thinks. The design is put in a different way.

Rangoli on Marble Floor Nail Art

It is definitely a Rangoli nail art but I have presented my Rangoli wrapped in Royalty. In old royal palaces floors have been traditionally of marble. They are shiny off-white in color. They are of a mark of aristocracy and richness. They ooze of style and elegance.I have always loved them.

Rangoli on Marble Floor Nail Art

Rangoli on marble floors look so sophisticated and serene. They have always intrigued me. Now I don' have a palace nor white marble floor. But who can stop me from getting them on my nails??

Rangoli on Marble Floor Nail Art

So, I did a white base with Sally Hansen White On. Now, in no sense a bright opaque white can depict a marble floor. I brushed the white base with NYX First Dance one coat. It is sheer white off-white polish with gold frecks. Such a gentle lovely polish. And as soon as I applied it, there was my marble floor base ready.

Rangoli on Marble Floor Nail Art

I made Rangoli pattern decals using Moyou Explorer Plate 20 and I loved the decals. That reminds me I will do a tutorial for how to make decals since they turned out well. I peeled off the decal and applied on wet polish.

Rangoli on Marble Floor Nail Art

On the Rangoli I added a silver rhinestone. I was so correct, it gave the pattern a gorgeous center.

Rangoli on Marble Floor Nail Art

Do you guys feel like I have done justice to Rangoli on marble floor. Are you able to visualize a marble floor detailed intricate Rangoli? I sincerely hope you do and if you do please leave a comment  to encourage me.

I used nail glue to stick some rhinestones at the center of the patterns. The nailart look was so glorified.Sometimes my judgement is just right :) And I am happy bird when that happens :).

For this nail art I used Barry M Silver Foil as a base. The stamping is done using Moyou Fairy Tale Collection 08. Its a pretty Plate with great design options. I picked up design from the hair of the princess.

Karva Chauth Nail Art

For some blingy effect to match the work on my saree, I used some green loose glitters. On my accent nail is Barry M Silver Foil. I sprinkled some loose holographic glitters. My Polishes got home and early morning floral nailart!

October 10, 2014 Setu 2 Comments

Hello Friends, I am happy to share this nail art with you today and hope it makes you happy too. I am in high spirit today and the world seems a kind place :P.

I moved my babies (read polishes) to their new home yesterday and now my polishes can finally breathe. My polishes were shoved in boxes and racks all this while. Finally my husband was sweet enough to offer me a full one column of wardrobe for my polishes. He emptied the entire section of four racks for me. I was so thrilled. I moved all my polishes, brushes, accessories etc to their new big home. Now they are spread across for me to see each one of them rather than lying on each other. It is very staisfying to see your baby happy, similar is the feeling I am getting.

polish rack

The only problem is now my polishes are in drawing room instead of bedroom. I was unable to sleep last night thinking if they are fine in the drwaing room. But I don't have an option, my bedrobe obviously is overflowing of our clothes which I definetly cant keep in drawing room cabinet. Another good thing about the move is that ,only few inches away from the cabinet is my dining table which is used more for nail art than for eating :). So it is immensly covinient now. I don't know if I am making sense, but I hope all polish addicts would understand.

Earlier I used to sort them by brands and put them closed lid boxes, stacking them one over the other. I would never get the visibility of all the polishes. I would just have to calculate what I want and pick it up from respective box. But now I have whole display!!! I don't THINK of what I want, but I LOOK for what I want (Hmmm!! not this one but that one...kinna selection) :)

Well, since I was so happy and I spent entire last evening yesterday doing this shifting, I couldn't do nail art which I so much wanted to do. And the Glam polish I am wearing is too tempting not do nail art.

early morning floral nailart

So, I got up early morning, did my Yoga and jumped to nail art before going to work. It didnot take long for me to do this nail art. I have been wanting to do this floral kinna tdesign since long. And the Polish wardrobe gave my strenght a boost to do it.

early morning floral nailart

I used acrylic paints to make the leaf, twigs and flowers. Everything seemed so easy beacuse I didnot have to pull stuffs one after the other from boxes.

early morning floral nailart

Also beause I was in good mood, I enjoyed doing this nailart . Also the Glam polish beneath is a stunner. My husband feeded me the breakfast since my polish was wet :P Well its not a news, because he often does that when my polishes are wet at night, but it was the first time for breakfast infront of both my maids who were giggling seeing this :P.

early morning floral nailart

Anyways, I finished my nail art with Seche Vite and rushed to office. This nail art gave me immense pleasure not only because it is pretty but beacuse I sucessfully completed them before office :).It was a huge challenge, you know what a marathon it is eary morining before office. Have you guys also tried doing nail art at wierd times? Please share your experiences.

Gradient Nails with Tribal Print

October 08, 2014 Setu 6 Comments

Hi Beauties, how are you? I hope you are in pink of your health:). Did I already mention that I am quite motivated for nail art these days. Past few nail arts went off well so is my confidence up.

Gradient Tribal Nail Art

I am here to share a bright and colorful nail art today. I started doing this nailart for the Crumpets prompt of “Gradient with three colors- one of which should be pink”. Now, I had so many gradient combinations zooming in my mind. If paired correctly, all gradients look tasteful and pretty so I was having lots of thoughts. Eventually I picked up Blue , Yellow and of course Pink.

Gradient Tribal Nail Art

I am not a gradient pro but I getting there (at least I think I am getting there, don't know about you :P ). Also, I have never done a three color gradient I think. So I was excited to see the result.

Gradient Tribal Nail Art
Now, I don't want to sound haughty here, but I am happy with my gradients. The colors were smooth and blended well. They were looking good on there own. But I was having an itch to do something.

Gradient Tribal Nail Art

I did want to try out freehand only, but last evening I got a squishy stamper from http://Bornprettystore.com/ for review along with other items. I was very curious to use it. So, restless as I am I jumped to some stamping.
I have used Bundle Monster CYO 2013 plates which is my friends. The stamping is done using Sinful Color - Black On Black. It is great fort stamping.

Gradient Tribal Nail Art

I prepared a base for gradient with Sally Hansen – White On. If you paint a white base for gradient, the colors are more prominent and build up well. For gradients I used Enchant Blue Polish which my friend 'Anita' got for me from Qatar. The yellow is NYX- Pastel Yellow. And finally the heart throb pink is Models Own – Sun Hat from Polish For Tans Collection. Its a brilliant neon pink.I mattifeid the nail art using a Matte Top Coat. Ohh! It has been over an year I haven't matified a single nail art. And now seeing the result , I am wondering am I a fool not to use it for so long?

Gradient Tribal Nail Art

Onto the stamper now. The stamper is double sided, one to pick up bigger images while the other for smaller. The head of the stamper is squishy which is great. I did not need to prime the stamper before its first stamping.

Gradient Tribal Nail Art

I did not have to press the stamper hard to pick up images, just a gentle push. The images are picked up so well. I chose a big image (full nail image) with both fine and broad lines to test the stamper. But each line was picked up on the stamper.

Gradient Tribal Nail Art
The image transferred fully and neatly to the nails . Again pressure was not required to transfer , just a gentle push. It was a pleasant, convenient stamping experience. I am happy with the scraper too, it has a plastic end and not mettalic. So it would not scratch the plates while using. The heads are extra large in size so no issue with picking XL images too.

Gradient Tribal Nail Art

Overall, these are really good and I would recommend you to pick one. You can buy them from Bornprettystore.com . If you use my coupon code HQBQ10 , you can enjoy a 10% discount site wide. They offer free international shipping too.

I hope you guys liked my nail art and the stamper too :)
