December 31, 2014 Setu 15 Comments

Hello Girls, Its finally the end of 2014!! Oh My, what an year it was. I did more nail art than ever this year. It had been very enriching experience in my nail journey. I did a lot of designs, lots of trials n errors, bought lot of plates and polishes , got lot of followers , I moved to self hosted Wordpress, I shifted my polish to a full cabinet storage and lots more!!

Pheww! Looks like I have lived 10 years in the last 1 year. However, the time flies and here we are bidding farewell to 2014 and welcoming 2015.

Happy New Year Nail Art

I did 2 nail art for the New Year 2015. Hah! You must be thinking, what else..she does nail art to say/express every damn thing! Yes, but that’s who I am and that’s what I love.

[caption id="attachment_4542" align="alignnone" width="523"]Happy New Year Nail Art FIRST NEW YEAR NAIL ART[/caption]

For the first Nail Art , I have used loose Gold Glitters to write 2015. This was the most exciting part of my nail art, I really love working with loose glitters. I think writing 2015 with this size glitters was a challenge.

Happy New Year Nail Art

As my love for Loose Glitter goes, I have again used them for my second nail art. My Second Nail Art is more of a New Year Party/Bash Nail Art. I have shown people dancing and enjoying on a New Years Eve.

Happy New Year Nail Art

I did two Nail Art for New Year because I was not happy with the first one. And some happiness and peace to my nail art soul, I did a second one.

Happy New Year Nail Art

Well, the Second One is better than the first one but not the best. Its already 31st morning and I am still not satisfied with the nail art I am wearing. There are very bleak chances of me getting chance to do another nail art.And I am working on 1st January too so no time to catch up on a 3rd New Year Nail Art.

Happy New Year Nail Art

I don’t know both are a failure or a success. Both of them did not pull off as it was in my mind. I don’t know, but things did not turn out as I had expected. But I am happy I tried two this year. They are pretty in themselves but not just as I wanted them to be.

Well, thats the story of all nail artists I guess, in our mind all the designs look so damn glamorous while on nails it turns out to be a poop at times. No, this is not as bad and I think I will live with it.How do you find it guys? I hope atleast one of them is able to take your mind off. Which one is it?

There are still few days to New Year and I may try another New Year Nail Art. Let’s hope I come with a new better New Year Nails. Till then this is what I got for you, hope you like it.

Sweater Print Nail Art

December 29, 2014 Setu 15 Comments

Hello Girls, Its cold and Chilly these days and what better time to do a Sweater print Mani. All my Winter and Christmas Nails Art collection would have been so incomplete without this. Also, this is the last prompt for STN Challenges which kind of makes me sad :(. After this, I am going on Challenge Break.

Sweater Print Nail Art

Yes, I just want to do what I feel like doing instead of prompts pushing me. I participated in a lot of challenges in last couple of months. As I said in my earlier posts-‘Challenges Kill Creativity’. And, too many challenges definitely do kill creativity and make nail art a task and a target to achieve. It becomes more of a ‘To Do’ list than ‘Wishlist’. But, they also push you to the untried zone and challenge your comfort zone. So the balance and hence the choice has to be fine.

Sweater Print Nail Art

So at this point after around two months running after the challenge, my wishlist and untried polish and plates call me!!I want to try all the untried polishes I had been ignoring and my whole bunch of new stamping plates biting dust.

Sweater Print Nail Art

Anyways, back to the nail art. I definitely wanted my sweater to look soft and delicate so I chose soft pastel colors. Somehow, I relate more to this kind of sweater print. I have seen and worn more this print more than the others. And as I say and believe, if I can’t relate and visualize a design, I can’t get it on my nails.

Sweater Print Nail Art

For the base I used, Models Own Blueberry Muffin and stamped it with Models Own Sunhat. The plate I used is Konad. I had been saving this image for an year to use it for Sweater Nails. And finally the burden is off. I used pink glittery flocking powder on my accent and thumb to get the fuzzy and fluffy feel of sweater.

Sweater Print Nail Art

I hope you can relate to my idea of Sweater print and feel. Leave your comments and let me know if it reminds you of a sweater?

Delicate Green and White Nails

December 28, 2014 Setu 5 Comments

Hi Sugars, Today’s nail art is one of those nail arts where decision and implementation were just distanced by seconds. Usually the distance between an idea conception/inspiration and implementation can range from minute, hours, days to months and years!! Yes! That is how long we take at times.

Delicate Green and White Nails

I saw @Sharingvu at Instagram with this nail art and I just wanted to recreate it. She is an awesome artist. I chose this design for its simplicity and elegance. I am having slight temperature for few days and had been feeling low. I wanted a ‘Feel Good Mani’ so I turned to it.

Delicate Green and White Nails 1

Also, It has been ages since I wore a green polish, really. I don’t know why but I seem to have completely missed it. I had bought a gorgeous shimmery rich metallic green from Faces last month to make up for the loss. But I had still not tried it.

Delicate Green and White Nails

So this nail art by @Sharingvu nailed both the aspects. I just wanted to recreate them. Now the nail art looks quite simple and also easily achievable in the video. But it’s a scam!! I can surely say it was not as easy at seems to be, trust me. In the tut SharingVu did it with such a grace and simplicity that I fell for it instantly. Not as easy though but I enjoyed doing it.

Delicate Green and White Nails

I used Faces 'Soul Mate' Nail Polish and white acrylic paints on my nails for the design. My table looked so neat with no mess around, just two items :). I am happy with how they look and its such pleasure to my eyes seeing green on my nails after so long.

Delicate Green and White Nails

I am not sure if I have done justice to @SharingVu work but I have tried my best. What do you girsl feel?

Christmas Stockings and Santa Nail Art

December 26, 2014 Setu 39 Comments

Hi Sugars, finally its christmas time!!! And before even begining to blabber in the post, I wish all my readers a very happy and merry Christmas :). I wish you all the polishes in the world for this Christmas (What other wish could you expect from a polish alcoholic like me :P ). As I mentioned earlier in my posts, I don't much relate to all elements of Christmas because I don't celebrate it. Inspite of this fact, I feel connected to Chrismas as a result of lot of blog reading and christmas nail art ofcourse :). They make me feel like living Chrsitmas.

Christmas Stocking and Santa Nail Art

Anyways there is one element of Christmas that any one can relate to; which is Santa and gifts :). So I put my socks outside every christmas in expectation of some gift :P. And this is the closest memory of Christmas for me.

Christmas Stocking and Santa Nail Art

Hence I did this nail art inspired by The "Jaunty Juli". I have always loved her freehand work, no doubt she is very talented. I had done this nail art earlier inspired by her. The way she does her nails makes it look so easy that I fall into the trap everytime. I paint my nails and pick the brush thinking, it is an hours job only. But every time I have spend double the anticipated time :P. She is so talented to do it with the wink of an eye. But for rest of us, its a hard job.

Christmas Stocking and Santa Nail Art

I have always seen her work has a lot of detailing. It truely adds to the 'Wow' factor and makes her work look so real.Look at the details below, you will know what I am talking about.

Christmas Stocking and Santa Nail Art

For this nail art I used Streat Wear Pink as Base.I made all the socks and bows freehand.Outlining and deatiling and desiging the socks was a task. My God! It took good time and patience. But I am happy the way they turned out. I am kinna impressed with myself a little :).

Christmas Stocking and Santa Nail Art

I have made few modifications in the orignal nail art at places where I felt like. I changed the thumb and added Santa and Christmas Ho Ho. To me whats the point of hanging socks if there is no Santa to drop gifts :P

Althought the design on the thumb may not add to the beauty of the nail art but it undoubtedly completes it. And this is what I wanted. A complete Christmas feel :).Do you get the feel I am talking about? Hows nail art for you? Does it scream christmas?

Poinsettia Nail Art

December 22, 2014 Setu 2 Comments

Hello, I am here with 'Poinsettia Nail art' and just to tell you this is also one of the elements of Christmas. But since I never do nail art without some background or story, I did some reading. I wanted to know how and why is Poinsettia related to Christmas and tradition.

Poinsettia Nail Art

But I what I am still confused is which story do I share? There are so many and most of them are lengthy :P. So here is the shortest one I could find:

Poinsettias are one of the most popular Christmas decorations around, with more than $200 million in sales every holiday season. One interpretation of the plant is as a symbol of the Star of Bethlehem, the heavenly body that led the three magi, or wisemen, to the place where Christ was born. A Mexican legend tells of a girl who could only offer weeds as a gift to Jesus on Christmas Eve. When she brought the weeds into a church, they blossomed into the beautiful red plants we know as poinsettias, known as Flores de Noche Buena in Mexico (Spanish for "flowers of the holy night").

Poinsettia Nail Art

The nail are all freehand expect for pinky and forefinger where I stamped. The base on them is Colorshow Bold Gold and the stamping is done using Konad Special Red.

Poinsettia Nail Art

I wanted to give depth to my Poinsettia so I used two hues of red, one dark and the other bright. I am not sure if I have been able to demonstrate it correctly. I think my nails don't speak my mind completely. These flowers were much more prettier and real in my mind.

Poinsettia Nail Art

But this is what I got atleast for now. Tell me your thoughts on them :)

Christmas Lights Nail Art

December 19, 2014 Setu 4 Comments

Hello Girls, Its December , its chilly and its christmasy!!! Except the fact that it is December none of the above adjective applies to me. Yet! I am as excited about them as you are. This is the first time when I have like taken a full fledged dip in Christmas and Winter Nails. And it is so much fun.

Christmas Lights Nail Art

I am literally celebrating Winters and Christmas just on my nails and yet it makes me just as happy. I am here with Christmas Lights Nail Art Today. I have been seeing Christmas light nails around for so long now. They have always seemed pretty to me but I could never relate to it.

Christmas Lights Nail Art

However, this time since I anyways dived deep in Christmas Nails, I can totally feel them. I did a simple evergreen nailart for Christmas Lights.

Christmas Light Nail Art

I did a white French nails first. Then I used Bundle Monster CYO13 to stamp those diagonal stripes. I wanted it to look Christmas without a doubt so I used the colours red and green. The red I used to stamp is Konad Special Polish while the green is Sinful Colors Calypso.

Christmas Light Nail Art

The lights are freehand completely using acrylic paints. After finishing I lightly applied Barry M Limited edition Superdrug polish. This is such a gorgeous polish!! It is full of holo glitters and they look completely festive. Just goes with the feel. Overall, I find the nail art both delicate and festive which is just my taste.

What do you guys say? How has Christmas been? Have you done any Christmas Nails Lately?

SnowFlakes Nail Art

December 16, 2014 Setu 11 Comments

SnowFlakes Nail ArtHello Girls!! Its winter time and so I wanted my nail art to be dipped in it (I mean not literally). I have always loved and fascinated snowflakes on my nails. They are so dreamy and delicate. Ever since I started doing nails I have always awwed them. But this is my first winters where I am actually doing them.

 SnowFlakes Nail Art

The surprising thing is I have always hated and dreaded winters. And my regular readers would know that I never do nail art of things I can’t relate to or approve of. If I can’t imagine it or feel it, I won’t do it. But in spite of my body getting repulsed by winters my nails are absolutely loving being decorated with every element of winters.

SnowFlakes Nail ArtI had this design floating in my mind since couple of winters and I am so relieved to finally do it. Just imagine if something would have happened to me, this would be haunting my ghost mind too. Yeah! I can be melodramatic at times.

SnowFlakes Nail Art

Now about the nail art, I used Wet and Wild 2% Milk as base. It is a sheer cloudy color polish ideal for nude bases. I did gradient French nails by sponging Maybelline ColorShow ‘Bling on Blue’ which is texture glitter polish from their range. It is gorgeous and just what you need for icy effect. Really, i could not have chosen a better polish. It’s icy light periwinkle blue color with gritty silver hexes. It gives such a frosty gliterry feel.

 SnowFlakes Nail Art

I then stamped with Sinful Colors –Snow me with Mash and Winstonia 2nd Generation Plates. Each flakes were stamped separately and placed the way they look. I wanted a mix of different sizes of flakes. I think I was correct in deciding to do so. They look more natural to me now.

SnowFlakes Nail Art

I did not purposely Top Coat it because I didn’t want to lose the gritty texture French tips which resembled ice. I am loving them and am pretty motivated for other Winter/Christmas Nail Art. Wait up till my next nail and I hope you are enjoying the winter ride along with me.

Winter Scenery Snowman Nail Art

December 11, 2014 Setu 14 Comments

Hi Girls, I have already mentioned earlier that I have neither seen a real snow not do I like Winters. Frankly I hate winters.  And I had never expected myself to be tolerant to it even on my nails. But here I am quite enjoying winters and snow on my nails. That's the kind of advantage one has with creative liberty. I can create my own world on my nails and enjoy it :)

Winter Scenery Snowman Nail Art

This is a free hand nail art I did and they are inspired by Robin Moses 'The Great'.But they are not a fraction of what Robin does. Plus in my defense I had fever and my hands were shivering. Trust me, I was in bad shape. But that's with nailart freaks like me. When we are happy we feel like doing nail art to pour our creativity and happiness. And when we are low, we definitely wanna do nail art to cheer us up and remind us why life is beautiful :).

Winter Scenery Snowman Nail Art

I really imagine if I were in the scenery I have drawn, what would have been my feelings? It is spell bounding  and beautiful no doubt, but would I have survived the frozen weather? I don't know. I would have definitely hugged the snowman though :)

Winter Scenery Snowman Nail Art

Anyways, I am just waiting to see what you guys have to say about the nail art. I really hope you like it and appreciate the spirit along with the artwork.

Christmas Tree Nail Art

December 09, 2014 Setu 3 Comments

Its Christmas time and its snowing festivity in the nail world. And I am getting carried away too. This is my first time with Christmas Challenges and I seem to be quite enjoying it :)

Christmas Tree Nail Art

I did 3 nail art back to back yesterday and all winter/Christmas. I finished the entire process of doing and removing 3 nail arts spread across 5 hours. I took considerable amount of breaks in between too :).

Christmas Tree Nail Art

I feel it was a very fertile and productive evening yesterday and I was able to finish more than what I had planned. These occasions of exceeding expectation are very rare and I am relishing it today also.

Christmas Tree Nail Art

I used textured white from Sally Hansen Sugar Coat- Sugar Fix. They are perfect for snow effect :). I am so glad I used them. On pinky and pointer I used Wet and Wild 2% Milk as  base and did a gradient glitter sponge with Allana Renne - Santa's Little Helper. Its a gorgeous Christmas glitter polish.

Christmas Tree Nail Art

I used Mash plates for the Christmas stamping and a local green polish for stamping.I wanted both snow and bling on my Christmas Tree nail art. I think I incorporated all the elements I wanted my Christmas Tree to have. What are your thoughts?

Christmas Candy Nail Art

I used Winstonia 2nd Generation Plate for Swirly Candy designs. And then added rhinestone at the center.
