Cute Bunny Nails

March 31, 2016 Setu 2 Comments

Hello Girls, I have yet another cute bunny nails for Easter. I am bit late in blogging about it, but I managed to post on Instagram timely. I did them as a second Easter nail art which would be easier and cute. But the real reason for doing this was the Bunny Glitter Polish Set I got from Etude House last year on my visit to Malaysia. As is it Etude House stores look like you entered a cake shop and this Bunny Polish peeping from the corner just looked like the icing. I fell for it and a lot of more stuff and made huge dent in my wallet. Don’t blame me, their store smells heavenly and looks all pink and sugar. You are like possessed by ‘The Pink’. I lost control (in case I have any, Lol)

Cute Bunny Nails

However, what was once deadly cute in store was lying dusty in my nail wardrobe. So I thought to myself, it has already been a year and if I don’t use it even now, it will only get used next Easter! With that in my mind, I rushed to do this apparently easy nail art.

Cute Bunny Nails

If only it was as Easy! Phew!. It was so irritating to place the bunnies on nails. The bunny is flat and our nails are bulged curved, so it was a pain to have bunny sit on nail with edges never sticking. If only I had anticipated that, I would have never done this nail art. Hmm, so good I didn’t anticipate because then my polish would have died virgin!

Cute Bunny Nails

The set contains a white polish (to be used as base) and a bottle of loose black glitter bunny along with some round gold and black glitters. The brush of Bunny Bottle is so intelligently made with L shaped bent edge to pick up glitter easily. It doesn’t have any brush, just a flat L shaped spoon kina thing.Impressed!

[caption id="attachment_6631" align="alignnone" width="600"]Cute Bunny Nails in Dark Cute Bunny Nails in Dark[/caption]

I skipped the white base and did neon peach base from Doctor Lacquer – Kumu. I wanted some element of spring too, that’s why I chose this happy neon pastel, which also glows in dark. I am obsessed by GIDs! And why not, they are so much fun. Isn’t it girls? What do you think of my mani and my GID obsession.

PS : I get scared of my own nails at night when I wear GIDs!!

Easter Nail Art

March 26, 2016 Setu 1 Comments

Happy Easter Girls! I have an Easter Mani with cute Easter bunny for today. Now, don’t hate me or laugh at me when I say I thought that Easter was on Friday! And this gave me sudden panic attack that I have not touched upon my much planned nail art and it’s already Easter. The thought made me irritated because it was difficult to do the nail art, edit pics and write blog post in the remaining time before calendar date changed.

Easter Nail Art

But then I decided, let me still go ahead with the nail art even if I have to post it a day late. I so wanted to do it. I gathered some courage and heap of colours that I needed to do this mani. It took me quite some time to do this mani. To be frank, even more that the execution, the planning took time.

Easter Nail Art

So let me begin with listing down the colors I used. I painted all my nails white from Sinful Colours ‘Snow me White’. Then I did gradient with popping colors like Thistle Do Nicely, That’s Shore Bright, Too Yatch to Handle from China Glaze and few brights from El Corazon.

Easter Nail Art

I made a decal of the Bunny image from Bundle Monster Fuzzy & Ferocious Plate S163 using Lotus Mat.I made a decal because I didn’t want to do a trial and error to aim placing the bunny. It should be perfect. I made carrots and put tiny leaves on them on one nail. While on the remaining two nails I did applied Polish Me Silly – Trouble Maker.

[caption id="attachment_6617" align="alignnone" width="600"]Easter Nail Art Easter Nail Art in Black Light[/caption]

Not only did my nails rock during the day but also looked fabulous in Black light. I then clicked pics both in light house and black light. Took time again to edit them . Finally with heavy heart I posted my Easter Mani on Instagram where I wrote in caption, that I was sorry for the delayed Easter Mani. After an hour my husband saw it and told I was 1 day early and Easter is on Sunday. Aah!! What a relief, I immediately modified my caption on IG before any more damage. Ha Ha! But on the brighter side I did my mani before time due to the panic and finished everything the same day.

ColourFul Feathers on Fun Art of Sparkle

March 23, 2016 Setu 1 Comments

Hello Sparkles, I am back with another dazzle and bling nails. Why not, I am off to trip with my girl friends and any amount of sparkle is less. And my nails will see a lot of sun which they don’t see usually because I spend the entire day in office. So it is quite a good excuse to wear the most holo polish in my stash.

ColourFul Feathers on Fun Art of Sparkle

I had been planning to do a feather nails for very long time. Then I saw them on UberChic set 06-03 and they were just the kind of feather I had pictured in my mind. There was no doubt that it had to be a colourful feather. So I decided to do an advanced stamping.

ColourFul Feathers on Fun Art of Sparkle

I am really crushing a bit on the glitters and sparkles and ultra holo-ness of ‘Art of Sparkle’ from Fun lacquer. So I chose it as my base. Not a difficult choice. However, the pain with such a bases is that they look dazzling to your eyes but fail infront of your camera. I swear it was a PITA to capture it.

[caption id="attachment_6585" align="alignnone" width="600"]ColourFul Feathers on Fun Art of Sparkle In DayLight[/caption]

Coming to the feathers, I filled it with pastel neons from Doctor Lacquer. And you know what my feathers glow in night. I so love it. Like really, how fabulous is that. The Polishes used are Omilu, Kumu , Lau Wiliwili and Hinalea Lauwili.

[caption id="attachment_6587" align="alignnone" width="600"]ColourFul Feathers on Fun Art of Sparkle Feathers GLowing in Dark[/caption]

But inspite of all right polishes and base and image, I am not as satisfied as I thought I would be. I think my camera freaked out. All in all, I am happy of the choices I made but somehow they did not materialise as awesome as they were individually. What do you say girls? Is it really that average or I am stressing too much?

Dazzling Purple Nails

March 20, 2016 Setu 2 Comments

Hello Peeps, I am feeling great sharing this nail art for you. I tried out something new and it turned out great. For those who have been following my blog or seeing my nail art, they know I barely use a purple polish. It’s my least favourite color for no reason. I don’t hate any colors but few colors are less loved. I always have a knot in my head that purple doesn’t suit me. I am good with darker shades of purple which are more aubergine in hue. So here I befriended the purple and I loved it.

Dazzling Purple Nails

The polish is ‘Thats shore Bright’ from China Glaze which had been lying virgin for 6 months. I got them with lot of hope that if not regular, may be a neon-er version of purple will make me fall with it. But it lied unloved, ignored for 6 months until one morning a wore a purple shirt and was nude nails. So I thought why not apply a purple matching polish. Now just FYI I barely own any purple clothes either since I don’t adore that colour. So why not pair two unloved combos (purple shirt and polish).

Purple Dazzle Nail Art 2

And man, the polish nailed it matching my top to glory and making my hands look so pretty. I kept on saying myself the entire day, why the hell I never tried it before? At the end of the day I decided to a nail art on it. And since I had gained confidence with purple being my pet during the day, I thought of experimenting more. So I decided to a make a stamping decal using LotusMat which also had been a nightmare because I just couldn’t get my decal off it ever. So I just wrapped it and put it top shelf of my nail rack, where I stack extras(which means, I am never gonna see you again :P).

Dazzling Purple Nails

With Jungle Nail Art being a success, I pulled LotusMat down and kept with regular supplies(which is like revival). Now it was time for the second hit. So I took out QA-28 which has lovely images but never used them because only a decal (advanced stamping) could justify its beauty. So this was the perfect occasion.

Dazzling Purple Nails

For the decal I used ‘Art of Sparkle’ from Fun Lacquer. It’s such an amazing ultra holo, its distractingly blingy. I used it to colour the decals and I so loved it. Finally I sponged the tips of my other nails with this polish. And on my pointer wore; ‘Art of Sparkle’ all on its own with a neon purple stud. I am crushing on this right now, how about you?

Turoquise and Blue floral Nails

March 18, 2016 Setu 0 Comments

Hello Friends, I have a beautiful impulsive nail art to share today which satisfied me to every bit. I guess impulsive is under estimated, they please you more than planned! What say?. I was just watching some movie and I got intriuged by the crop top the actress was wearing. It was such a lovely white top with abstarct flowers of turqoiuse and indigo.

Turoquise and Blue floral Nails

I literally paused the TV for few seconds to just enjoy watching the flowers and prints. And I quickly thought that I may not have the same top but I can capture the same print on my nails!. This would have given me a greater satisfaction than buying the top.

Turoquise and Blue floral Nails

I pulled out the polishes in minutes and I had a clear vision on what I wanted to do with them. Usually I am undecisive for hours on what to do on my nails. But today I just had it all sorted.

Turoquise and Blue floral Nails

I did a white base for flowers and on rest of the nails I pulled off pretty gradient to compliment the flowers and complete the look. I used Orly Vintage, Hip and OutLandish and Orly Indie for the gradient. On the gradient I did a generous coat of Sinful Color Junkie. Its a gorgeous glitter topper with chuncks of blue, teal, gold and green. It just blended the gradient so well and also brought nice spark to it.

Turoquise and Blue floral Nails

For flowers I used Acrylic Paints and brush from BornPrettyStore.com. Now you all may already know but I can’t just stop talking on my latest BPS brushes. They are damn good. I got this one from here and you can get it at 10% with code HQBQ10. Do let me know what you think of these nails? Has being impulsive rewarded you more than sticking to plan? Let me know.

Jungle Nail Art

March 16, 2016 Setu 1 Comments

Hello Girls, I am quite relieved as I write this post today. I had purchased a Lotus Mat along with other stamping goodies from Bundle Monster. However, I struggled big time with Lotus Mat. The decals won’t just come off the mat and if I tired further the decals used to break brittle in pieces. I was feeling so bugged and guilty with this purchase, while all my other friends were pulling off decal (pun intended) seamlessly.

Jungle Nail Art

So after discussion with my nail buddy Manisha and some reading, I decided to finally spin a final take on the Lotus Mat with all my vigour. And it worked!! It worked like a charm. Only two things that I did differently were: Earlier I used to clean the mat with acetone and apply clear polish to make decal while now after acetone cleaning, I just lightly touched the mat with my creamy/oily hands to cut out excess dryness that may have been preventing the decal to pull off. Secondly, I changed the way I pulled it out. Instead of using a tweezers to just pull it, I rolled the mat round and allowed the decals to separate on their own gently. And I succeeded!

Jungle Nail Art

I had got Fuzzy and Ferocious Set 02 last month and had wanted to use them for so long. But I always felt that such plates only do justice with decals. All characters in such plates come to play when dipped in correct color instead of just stamping over single color/gradient base.

Jungle Nail Art 1

And now since I was cool with the lotusmat, I jumped on to using my virgin set of plate. These images are from S-165. The base is a gradient of Zoya Lake and Ireland from their Whisper 2016 Collection. I cannot possibly name and remember the polishes that I used to fill in decals because they were so many.

Jungle Nail Art 1

My favourite nail is my pinky with monkey; it just came out so well. Also the hippo looked exactly like Moto Moto (Remember, the name is so nice, you gotta say it twice :P )from Madagascar. I just loved my monkey and hippo here. But what is your favourite part of the mani?

Nails Matching My Dress

March 13, 2016 Setu 3 Comments

Hello Girls, today I present you the kind of nail art that makes me happy. For those who have been reading my blog, you know how much I love doing ‘inspired nails’. I am the merriest if I can find inspiration to my designs from things surrounding me. The nail art today is inspired by my Bandhani Print Dress.

Bandhani Print Nails inspired by my Dress

Now if I have to tell you (which I always love) the actual turn of events that led to this nail art; don’t think I am mad. On Sunday I went shopping for my husband and it was only meant to be my husband’s shopping. However, I am clueless on how I ended up buying 2 Jackets (after winter has passed by), 2 Tops , 1 Tunic Dress , 1 Palazzo pants and 2 Foot Wears!! Excited as always, I wanted to try the pink foot wear immediately to work on Monday.

Nails Matching My Dress

So after lot of analysis, I pulled a dress from my wardrobe which will exactly match the foot wear. It was already 9 at night. And I had to change my polish anyways so I thought why wear a matching one. Since Orly Freeflow was yet unused and matching my dress, so I quickly pulled it out and applied it.

Nails Matching My Dress

After dinner and polish, just before I was thinking of hitting the bed; I said to myself since I have taken this much effort let me do a nail art to go with my dress too. I was in no mood to do a freehand so I started hunting ferociously a descent plate. Little did I know that I would find an exact print to match my dress.

Nails Matching My Dress

After franatic searching I laid my hands on Uber Chic 03-02. The design matched the print so well. I immediately removed Orly Freeflow from 2 fingers and applied NYX Banana. The stamping polishes are Mundo De Unas ‘Yellow’ and Qa Ya Yin from BornPretty Store (#22). By the time I applied top coat on them for finishing; I was in love with the nail art. Specially, how it looked like a piece of my dress wrapped around my nails. What do you think girls? Did I succeed?

Colorful Dry Brush Nail Art

March 11, 2016 Setu 0 Comments

Hello girls, I am really digging Orly these days and almost every alternate nail art of mine has one or other color from Orly. Today I used my latest and brightest possessions from Orly.

Colorful Dry Brush Nail Art

I recently got the Orly Melrose Collection which has been reviewed here. There are some real bright and fun colors in the set that I pulled out and used for this bright look.

Colorful Dry Brush Nail Art

The base is Orly Vintage, while dry brush is done using Window Shopping and Indie. The black dots are with acrylic paint. I was already wearing Vintage because I was swatching Melrose Collection. Now it’s is such a pretty bright mint color that I didn’t want to just take off without throwing in some nail art on it.

Colorful Dry Brush Nail Art

Dry brush has always been on my ‘I want to try list’. I feel it is one of the easiest and fun techniques that I have barely explored. So I went for it. As it was already late night and I had little time, the situation was also apt.

Colorful Dry Brush Nail Art

It just took me like 20 minutes to finish and clean this. I am glad with the way it turned out and with so little effort. I am going to explore on this technique and share soon.

Women’s Day Nail Art

March 08, 2016 Setu 0 Comments

Let me begin today’s post by wishing you a very Happy Women’s Day. No surprises, I did a nail art to let my nails celebrate it too. I don’t think they turned out great, but I leave it for you to decide.

Women’s Day Nail Art

SHE is like flower; she blossoms and spreads joy, beauty and fragrance in every life that touches her. This is the message I attempted to convey though my nails.

Women’s Day Nail Art

The base is a gradient with Doctor Lacquer Omilu, Lau Wiliwili and Kumu and stamping is using BornPretty Store P73 and BPL21.

Women’s Day Nail Art

Just when I was thinking the nail art isn’t good enough, I remembered these are glow in dark polishes and I hadn’t yet checked this nail art in dark. Ahh! And what I saw blew my mind. It was like an anchor of hope to my sinking titanic of confidence.

Women’s Day Nail Art

It glowed so bright and looked very pretty; such a solace. I loved the glow in dark shots way more than in light. What is your favourite, girls?

Orly Melrose Collection - Review and Swatches

March 07, 2016 Setu 0 Comments

The ORLY Melrose Spring 2016 Collection features six new nail shades in a variety of finishes all inspired by the famous Melrose Avenue in L.A. I got them after taking lots of favours from my friends travelling from US. I liked almost all the colours of this collection; they seemed so fresh and vibrant. Anyways, I am biased towards Orly because of their amazing formula. They are all two coaters mostly, luscious shine without top coat, great colors and grip caps for easy application. Anyways, let’s jump to the review without wasting time.

Orly Melrose Cllection - Review and Swatches

Beautifully Bizzare : It is soft pink in colour and has a pearl finish. I can say it is shell pink with iridescent light blue shimmer. The shimmer isn’t very visible though. One may require from 2 to 3 coats to build up the color. I did 3.

Orly Melrose Collection - Beautifully Bizzare

The pink is actually dull and can give the look of pearl in various lights. I love crème and Jelly finishes, pearl finish just doesn’t work for me. So this is my least favourite out of the set.

Orly Melrose Collection - Beautifully Bizzare

Window Shopping: Ahh! This is such a delight. It is neon berry type pink with coral undertones. It leans towards red. The underlying coral makes this color so adorable and just prevents it from being ridiculously neon which would have made it look ordinary. It is super bright watermelon kind of neon.

Orly Melrose Collection - Window Shopping

The formula is amazing; it’s a jelly which builds up like a crème. It dries up so glossy and juicy. It looked so luscious that I felt if I just pricked my nails, I might have juice flowing out of it.lol. However, I felt the top coat (Seche Vite) changed a color a bit and now it leaned more towards red than without top coat. However, the difference is very minor and in no way hampers my love for ‘Window Shopping’.

Orly Melrose Collection - Window Shopping 3

Vintage: It is bright mint green crème polish. It is very bright in person, if I took a lovely mint shade and made it neon; it would be this.

Orly Melrose Collection - Vintage 1

It is great summer/spring color. It dries up glossy and rich. It may be three coater for some, but I managed with a two coat only. This is perfect dupe for China Glaze Too Yatch to Handle. The only difference being it dries out glossy while CG dries little matte.

Orly Melrose Collection - Vintage

Feel The Funk: This is one of the most raved about color from the collection. It is a mauve shimmer with holographic glitter. And I guess the good amount of holographic glitter that made people crazy.

Orly Melrose Collection - Feel The Funk

It is a sheer mauve jelly with sprinkled holographic particles. And they sparkle more than any average holo glitter sprinkled polish. I think Orly is good at doing this like Sparkling Garbage, Mirror Ball etc. It is a fun color and I don’t have such a combination in mauve so I love it.

Orly Melrose Collection - Feel The Funk

[caption id="attachment_6538" align="alignnone" width="600"]Orly Melrose Collection - Feel The Funk Macro Orly Melrose Collection - Feel The Funk Macro[/caption]

Trendy: This is brightest of the lot, closely followed by Vintage. It is funky peach neon color (not in your face neon but in the neon genre) with some glass/crystal like flecks. It is not textured or very gritty though.

Orly Melrose Collection - Trendy 3

This is not a unique color per say, because almost established brands who have neon collections have a similar color. What is different here is the glass/crystal like flecks and the great formula. It is great spring color I must say.

Orly Melrose Collection - Trendy

Hip and Outlandish: This is the brightest teal I own or have seen. Orly has taken a pretty classic teal to a neon like bright version. They are the glossiest and most popping out teal I have.

Orly Melrose Collection - Hip and Outlandish

However, the amount of pain that I had to take to click its picture is quite proportional to its beauty. It is so much greener and pepped up in person but the sad pictures just made it look so ordinary. I think there something with Orly Teals; these bad boys just don’t behave infront of a camera. I had similar issues with Make UP to Break Up.

Orly Melrose Collection - Hip and Outlandish

Overall, this collection has a great mix of finishes; crème, jelly, glitter, flecks. However all colours may not be unique. To be fair it is so difficult to launch a unique color with a market that has already explored all possible colors. And with the exponentially growing number of polishes that we own, it is challenge for any brand to establish a difference or uniqueness.

I bought the collection from http://Nailsupplies.us at roughly 24 usd which is a total steal. My favourites are Window Shopping and Hip and Outlandish. What is yours?
